The E-ferry is a fully electric car- and passenger ferry. The E-ferry’s battery-powered engines can cover 22 nautical miles as opposed to 3 miles in other existing electric ferries. The Jury says Ferry traffic is one of the most polluting means of transportation. This is a new direction for the industry and has huge potential if it can be scaled to e.g. freight ships. The E-ferry currently runs to and from Ærø, so its function and impact is already proven.The fast-charging engine and its ability to go long distances makes it more than just an upgrade.
