Giving history one shared voice.

How do you bring six historic sites and thousands of objects together in one shared story? Kontrapunkt developed a new brand, strategy, and communications platform for the Royal Danish Collection - including the name change from Kongernes Samling to Den Kongelige Samling. The identity is built around the idea of entering a treasure chamber, where every object holds its own story. The crown and shield are the central visual elements. The shield works across everything from small digital icons to larger layouts and is used to frame artwork, objects, and stories. The typography draws on historic traditions, and the color palette is taken directly from objects in the collection.

The Royal Danish Collection spans six historic locations, each with its own identity. The new platform brings them together under one shared name and visual system, making the institution clearer as a whole. Historic symbols are not treated as static relics, but translated into a contemporary design language that works across digital platforms, communications, and physical cultural spaces. The result is an identity that brings together centuries of royal heritage without making history feel static.
