From festival waste to fashion.

OUR SHIFT collects discarded festival tents and transforms them into design-led outerwear, accessories, and custom products. The tents are collected from Danish and international festivals, then sorted, cleaned, and taken apart. The design and cutting patterns are adapted to the available tent panels, maximizing material use while minimizing offcuts. Existing details such as zippers, cords, and reinforced seams are retained and incorporated into the new designs, giving the products a visible connection to the material’s previous life.

Every year, large numbers of festival tents are abandoned after just a few days of use, even though they are made from durable textiles. Instead of breaking the material down and creating a new textile, OUR SHIFT keeps the existing fabric in use and extends its life through design. Variations in the source material give each production run its own combination of colors, details, and traces of previous use. Festivals and companies can also have their own discarded materials transformed into new products, making the reuse of their materials tangible and visible. By reusing the existing fabric directly, OUR SHIFT avoids most of the energy, water, and emissions associated with virgin textile production.
