A sofa does not have to be a finished part of furniture from day one. ELH starts with the minimum. A single base that works as a pouf and can expand into an armchair or a larger sofa as needs change. Screw-based connections and removable seat components make the system easier to disassemble, repair, and build on. The solid oak construction is left visible and becomes part of the furniture’s expression. In this way, ELH can change in size and function over time without needing to be replaced.

Our homes and lives change faster than the furniture we fill them with. For young adults in particular, who may move frequently or live in smaller spaces, a traditional sofa can quickly become the wrong size or no longer fit their needs. ELH reverses that logic by allowing the furniture to evolve with the user. Instead of buying a new sofa, users can expand the system or replace individual parts. ELH proposes a sofa that is not finished at the point of purchase, but can continue to evolve throughout its lifespan.
