Supporting mental well-being through screen-free breathing guidance.

BiBi – Breathing Buddy is a simple, screen-free tool that guides children and adults through calming breathing exercises. With gentle lights and soft vibrations, BiBi relieves stress, anxiety, and sleep difficulties – without screens, apps, or logins.

Developed by Mads Rugaard, Casper Craggs, and Jakob Brömauer from MindMind, BiBi emerged from a personal moment during the COVID-19 pandemic, when Casper’s daughter experienced anxiety and shortness of breath. Realizing that digital solutions often add noise, the team designed BiBi as an intuitive, offline alternative grounded in therapeutic methods.

Used by over 5,000 children in Danish public schools and by adults coping with PTSD, exam stress, or everyday overwhelm, BiBi makes evidence-based breathing techniques accessible. Each session lasts just two minutes and helps activate the parasympathetic nervous system – lowering stress hormones and promoting immediate calm.

What sets BiBi apart is its simplicity. It’s not about adding complexity but about removing distractions to reconnect people with what’s already within them: the breath. Whether in a classroom, a hospital, or a quiet bedroom, BiBi offers a quiet space in a noisy world.

BiBi shows how design can empower mental well-being – helping people slow down, breathe deeply, and feel safe in their own bodies.
