David Carson is a senior design strategist and consultant. With more than 25 years’ experience in his field, he is one of the most prominent and respected profiles in the international design scene. David Carlson has initiated a number of start-ups, including David Report, Designboost, Carlson Ahnell and David Design, and he is the author of the design guide ‘Make Design Matter’.
In 2006, David Carlson founded a creative agency in his own name, the David Carlson Agency. Here, he puts his years of experience in consumer behaviour, trends and retail to use and applies design as a strategic tool for repositioning and revitalising business performance.
David Carlson has initiated numerous creative partnerships, products and services that are recognized around the world, including the influential online magazine David Report, which covers the intersection of design, culture, lifestyle and business. He is also the founder of Carlson Ahnell, a lifestyle shop that was named ‘one of the top 10 boutiques in the world’ by The Observer. From 2013 to 2014, David Carlson was design manager for Wallvision. In 2007, David Carlson founded Designboost with the vision of promoting an international design network including institutions such as Design Academy Eindhoven, Konstfack, Parsons School of Design and Stanford University and companies such as Audi, IKEA, Iittala, Apple and Electrolux – to name but a few.
Since 2013, David Carlson has served on the board of Svensk Form, Swedish Society of Crafts and Design.
