Copenhagen’s waste sorting solution helps people separate their household waste in public spaces, making it easier to reach the city’s recycling goals for 2024. The system includes three types of bins – Top, Kube, and Shelter – designed to collect as many recyclable materials as possible, especially in limited space.
The system is easy to maintain and operate, with parts that one person can replace. It is made from recycled materials, ensuring it is cost-effective and long-lasting.
With 200 sorting points already in place, the design not only enhances accessibility for users and efficiency for collectors but also fosters a shared responsibility for sustainability among Copenhagen’s citizens.
