The AeroSlider imagines future long-distance travel that is CO2-neutral. It connects the future megacities of Europe, Africa and Asia by trains instead of planes.
The Jury says
What if?! If nobody had ever thought about going to the moon, nobody would ever have flown to the moon. This solution may not be technologically or commercially feasible at present, but it is bold and truly innovative. Visionary concepts suspend boundaries and do not get bogged down by processes and rules (e.g. geographical borders and government.) The concept solves the problem of air travel and puts minimal strain on the environment, as it is emissionless. We have already seen examples of projects going in this direction (Hyperloop and Maglev solutions), so it may actually be within sight in some years.
