The first years of a child’s life are crucial for growth and learning, shaping lifelong health and success. MODU originated from the need for a dynamic, age-adapting toy that could provide long-lasting value during early childhood, where children undergo rapid changes, often requiring many different toys to support their development.

The concept is a life-sized modular toy that promotes physical activity and cognitive learning through open-ended play. An ecosystem consisting of foam blocks, connector pegs, and wheels that can be assembled into multiple functional constructions, from active toys like rocking horses and ride-ons to furniture and toys for pretend play, like a kids’ stool or a play kitchen.

Based on snap- and press-fit connections and made from 100% recyclable mono-materials, the solution is designed for easy component replacement and recyclability, prolonging the overall lifecycle. It is designed to remain fun and challenging from newborn to age 6, and as a modular, scalable system, its functionalities can always be further developed.
