DoseCan from DoseSystem reminds people when to take their medicine. DoseSystem was designed in cooperation with nursing staff and individual users, and the result is a simple system with one confirmation button and an underlying app. Since the launch in the January 2015, DoseSystem has been sold to 28 Danish municipalities. It is also sold in Norway and Germany.
The jury says
Medication errors pose a widespread problem that is costly, both economically and in terms of quality of life. By solving this problem, DoseCan enables savings as well as a better user experience for both users and nursing staff. The product is well-designed by a designer who goes all the way by identifying the problem, solving the problem and successfully bringing the product to market.
