As an activist initiative, the popular shipping-container homes circumvent political processes with a solution that can be adapted to a city in constant transformation. Reusing discarded containers saves on building materials, and the compact cubes with the communal toilet make efficient use of the available space. A housing design that is sustainable in several regards.
