Tanja Kirst worked with hemp as a sustainable alternative in her final project ‘Re: Thinking Hemp’. The project was influenced by the ‘Sustainable Hemp Textiles’ project at the Danish Technological Institute. The project aims to produce raw textile materials from Danish cultivated hemp.

The Jury says
Tanja Kirst seeks to take a familiar material and reimagine it – by combining design with arts and crafts. In the process, she transforms hemp from its scratchy, eco-image into something desirable and with a higher design perspective. She makes hemp compelling, giving it an undeniable appeal. This material exploration is a valuable starting point for new design possibilities.
