The ambition of the Capital of Children vision is to inspire those creating the future Billund to develop a great, open-ended urban environment totally designed for creativity, learning and playfulness. With Billund being the home of LEGO, the brief was to develop an ambitious vision for the urban, cultural and social development of Billund made for children.
The jury says
Capital of Children is a really big, very complex and super visionary project that puts children first. The vision might help the world think differently, more bottom-up, listening to young people and learning from children’s point of view, which would be a new paradigm. The full publication about the Billund City vision is almost 400 pages so far, and we’ll be looking forward to seeing it unfold full scale!
